Our Story
Our Story is simple…It’s about caring for people and building long standing relationships. It’s about doing the “small things”, maybe it’s brownies, banana pudding, a text checking on someone or maybe a note in the mail. I know these things may seem simple, but for our team it’s about caring and empowering others, to me that is success, the flooring is just a bonus.
We are proud to be woman-owned, servicing the Raleigh-Durham area and beyond providing EXPERIENCE YOU CAN STAND ON.
We all have the same goals: customer service and long lasting relationships.
Together we bring 85+ years of commercial flooring and customer service.
Meet Tammy
The paths, curved roads and mistakes have been many on this journey to my forever dream of owning a woman owned, commercial flooring company.
I couldn’t be more thankful for the jobs and people that have coached me along the way and continue to do so today.

Starting over 20 years ago, with a coloring pencil and a set of plans, I will never forget coloring “behind” the door not having any idea how to even do a take-off, I remember the one person (you know who you are) that didn’t make fun of me and said, “here let me help you”. I want to be that for others.
These were the “old days of bidding” where you had to go to a GC’s office to do a take-off, get all your pricing, get the job, meet the installer, take the installer to the job, check the job afterwards and do the billing, you did the job from start to finish.
Although this seemed so hard at the time, looking back now it has taught me and my husband to build the team that we have. To build this team we had to come from the same background and have the same values. Together this team has +85 years in the construction industry. I strive to encourage and empower them to run their departments and stand behind the decisions they make. Some days they are encouraging me and empowering me, that is what makes us the team we are.

When Tammy and I got the opportunity to merge into an existing commercial flooring company, we jumped and have never looked back! The road hasn’t been the easiest one, but anything worth having isn’t going to be easy. Now, that it is 100% ours it will always requires a lot of work, but we LOVE it and wouldn’t change anything or any part of it!
Having 4 kids at home and having the flexibility to drop off and pick up my kids every day in carpool is very important to me. Because I know how important it is for me, I strive to make sure our employees always understands that family comes first. Our employees are family for us, we love each one of them and couldn’t do this without them!
Being in the construction business over 20+ years ago and staring as a Superintendent for a General Contractor, has brought so many advantages to help manage our company. I understand when we are scheduled to get started and arrive on site and you aren’t ready. I get it, been there!! We are here to be a team player for you, not looking for reasons to not start the job but looking for reasons to get started. Most of the time by the time we get there you are behind schedule; my goal is to help to see how we can help make up time.
Holding certifications in OSHA, Silica Awareness, Lull Telehandler, Ardex Polished Concrete Systems, as well as being an ICRI Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Technician not only helps us at CFG but extends the knowledge to you, our clients.
Tammy and I hold the same beliefs, it’s about caring for people and building long standing relationships.

Meet Dottie
My husband had a ceramic installation business, and I learned the basics whether it was mixing thinnest, grout or wet scraping floors and grouting ceramic, I did it all. Learning a lot about installing and carrying my fair share of heavy boxes of tile in the Florida sun made me want to continue to thrive in this man dominated world. Why? That’s who I am.
My husband and I were fortune enough to both be offered opportunities in North Carolina and decided to take a chance and moved. As the market was also changing in North Carolina I put my skills to good use and moved into a purchasing and scheduling of projects position.
Several years later I was approached by a commercial flooring company and was happy to offer all my many skills that I had learned along my journey. For me it was the next big step in the flooring industry, I continued to grow and soak up all that I could. Again, as companies change and our personal needs change and the opportunity presented itself to join Corner Flooring Group team, it truly all came full circle for me.
My kids are grown (they still need me daily, anyone with kids understands this), I wanted a more relaxed position where I could have more life balance and offer everything I had learned on this journey and still be here for my kids, I knew this would be my forever home.
I love being a part of a women owned business and love researching ways to bring young rising graduates into this industry. For me in my career it’s so much more than flooring, it’s about a part of something that I believe in.

Meet Jon
It all started for me over 28+ years ago in a family business with my father where I learned the old fashion way, you did everything from start to finish. I wouldn’t change these years for anything, I learned so much, whether it was installing, estimating, or managing projects in the field. This experience has helped me to excel throughout my career.
As I learned it all, I also learned that estimating was my true love. Budgeting a project, doing a final take off and then seeing it come to life has its personal rewards for me. I strive to be the most efficient and accurate estimator in the business.
With my kids “grown and gone” I love being a part of CFG and having the ability to work out of my home office in Burlington, NC. As time goes by it seems that what is important to me has shifted and love being close to home where my parents live just down the street and are getting older. And we all know, even though the kids are “grown and gone” they will always need me too.
I’ve always loved being a part of a small, owned company, it has so much more flexibility. When the opportunity came to join CFG there was no question for me, being a part of this company has brought me back to “a quality of life”. When I’m not working, I am grilling and spending time with family and friends.
And most importantly, my personal motto is to “WIN EVERYDAY”!
Meet Greg
Working in the construction industry for 15+ years, most of my time has been spent in a warehouse or making deliveries. Some even say I am a “grumpy old man” and there was a time that I was, but as I have aged, I have mellowed and have learned to enjoy life.
When I was asked to join the CFG team, it was a chance to try new things. Getting out of the warehouse and help manage projects has been a learning experience but one that I have embraced and enjoyed. Each day is started at the warehouse meeting with installers and loading them up for the day. Then headed to the field to check the progress on jobs.
As the company continues to grow, my hope would be to take on more responsibilities in the field. They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, I’m here to prove them wrong!
Having 3 grown children, allows me time when I’m not working for golfing, camping, and grilling out!
